Manistee Health Center on Parkdale to open July 22

MANISTEE — Northwest Michigan Health Services Inc. plans to open its Manistee Health Center at 148 W. Parkdale Ave. this month.

“Athough NMSHI has operated a health center in Manistee for some time, they are excited to relocate to a newly renovated, convenient location to better serve patients. NMHSI has purchased the building at this location, deepening their commitment to bring wellness to life for Manistee residents of all ages,” read a news release in part.

The new location is expected to include three medical exam rooms, an American with Disabilities Act-accessible ramp, parking and patient support services for overcoming barriers to health care, including cost, time, transportation and language.

The health center is expected to be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with in-person and telehealth visits available. Current and new patients can schedule an appointment by calling 231-398-2258.

“With or without health insurance, everyone is welcome here,” the release said.

A grand opening event is planned for July 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Everyone is invited.

The grand opening event starts with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and will also include opportunities to meet Primary Care Provider Faith Kelley, tour the facility, learn about services, and enjoy light refreshments and fun giveaways.

“As an established nonprofit organization and a federally qualified health center, NMSHI takes a positive approach to health care, believing quality medical, dental and behavioral health care is within reach for everyone, regardless of health insurance coverage,” the release said.
